1170G harvester is equipped with John Deere 6068 PowerTech Plus turbo-charged, charge air cooled, 6-cylinder 6.8L engine to provide the right technology, right now. 
Larger work pump 175 cc gives more power and torque. The new Processing Power Control (PPC) feature enables three different levels of machine performance to optimize fuel economy and maximize productivity in any logging condition. Level 1 is for small diameter tree handling for thinning, level 2 for nominal tree sizes and level 3 for thick and heavy trunks. The operator just needs to press a single button to adjust the power. 
High tractive effort through the new 24.5" or 26,5" tires, impressive lifting forces from the new CH6 boom and unrivalled aggression from the new H414 harvesting head make the 1170G the perfect choice for thinning and early regeneration harvesting operations.
Intelligence comes from the Timbermatic H-12 control system whilst the automatic rotating and leveling operator’s station ensures that your operators remain productive and comfortable throughout the working day.
